Sue Marsden BA (Hons), MinstF(Cert)
Managing Director and Senior Consultant

Sue has a degree in English from Manchester University and has worked for 30 years in fundraising, setting up PFC in 1988 to work with a rapidly expanding number of clients.

Highly regarded as an expert in school fundraising, Sue’s expertise extends across many charity sectors and she has been consultant to many well-known organisations, particularly in the North of England.

She was commissioned to write ‘Capital Fundraising for Schools’ by Pitman Publishing in 1997 which was the first book to be written about high-level fundraising in schools. A frequent speaker at conferences and a tutor on courses in fundraising, Sue also established the first university accredited course in school fundraising – the Certificate in Fundraising for Schools. 

Sue was one of the earliest Directors of the Association of Fundraising Consultancy and she is also a member of MENSA. She received the Guinness Award for the Grand Theatre in Blackpool for the arts sponsorship programme she established for the Theatre. She also holds the Certificate in Fundraising Management awarded by the Institute of Fundraising.

Sue is determined to help more people to understand best practice in fundraising so that charitable organisations can achieve their maximum fundraising potential.

PFC - the Consultancy

Our office is in Lancaster and we have many clients in the North of England but we also work with clients throughout the UK, particularly on fundraising strategies and major donor campaigns.

All our services are provided in-house and we do not work with any freelance fundraising consultants.

We now focus entirely on consultancy work with our clients and we no longer run masterclasses and a range of courses as we used to do. This is because the demand for our consultancy is very high and requires all our time.

We are often asked by previous clients to help them with a new project and we feel very fortunate to have built such good relations with all our clients over many years.
